The project is funded by the European Commission (DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion), and is led by Dr. Barbara Bechter, Durham University. The project aims to identify factors that determine the effectiveness of the 43 social sectoral dialogues between employer and employee in the EU-28, and, through an in-depth study of health care and metal sectors, study what creates barriers and commitment social dialogue. The new Centre for Global Human Resource Management aims to strengthen Swedish research in this area. The Centre is operated jointly by the Department of Sociology and Work Science and the Department of Business Administration at the University of Gothenburg.
