Research, education and partnerships are pursued at the Department in several disciplines. Research programmes cover the labour market and working life, social welfare, social movements, sustainable development, environmental policy, the sociology of law, crime and social control. Education is provided in disciplines including sociology, work science, human resources science, criminology and human resources management. The Department also has extensive undertakings in several academic programmes at the University of Gothenburg, particularly within teacher education. The Department is engaged in collaborative and development projects with partners in the private business sector and the public sector.

No later than week 33, you are expected to receive a welcome letter from the department via e-mail. The letter contains a link to Canvas (the University of Gothenburg's learning platform), where you will find schedules, syllabuses and literature lists, as well as information about registration.
The registration takes place August 26-27 (period 1) and October 29-30 (period 2). Registration is mandatory - if you do not register you risk losing your place of education!
