Sociology and Work Science

In order to reduce the spread of COVID-19 the department has switched to remote education/work during the Spring 2020. We keep the premises closed until further notice.

Research, education and partnerships are pursued in several disciplines at the department. Education is provided in disciplines including sociology, work science, human resources science, criminology and human resources management.

Research programmes cover the labour market and working life, social welfare, social movements, sustainable development, environmental policy, the sociology of law, crime and social control.

The department is further engaged in collaborative and development projects with partners in the private business sector and the public sector. As well as extensive undertakings in several academic programmes at the University of Gothenburg, particularly within teacher education.
