About Caroline Hasselgren

Background
Caroline is a doctoral student in sociology. She has a MA in sociology (2014) and a BA in human resource management and labour relations (2012), both obtained at the University of Gothenburg.

Current research
Caroline's thesis is carried out within the interdisciplinary project "What We Are and What We Do - How Genetics and Living Conditions Impact on Dementia Among Older People", which is led by Prof. Björn Halleröd from the Department of Sociology and Work Science (University of Gothenburg) and Prof. Ingmar Skoog from the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology (the Sahlgrenska Academy). In short, the project aims to examine the interplay between social and genetic factors in the development of Alzheimer's disease.

Collaborations
Caroline is a member of the interdisciplinary research center AgeCap, Center for Aging and Health (www.agecap.gu.se).
