About Micael Björk

Specialist Fields
His research involves studying the police, especially the policing of organised crime and criminal street gangs. He has previously carried out research on political culture from a historical-sociological perspective.

Current research
Since 2010 he has been conducting a research project called ”Who Governs the police? The Swedish Police Organisation in Political and Public Context” (funded by the Swedish Research Council).

Teaching and tutoring
Micael teaches courses in social psychology and criminology.

Miscellaneous
Micael Björk is a member of the Research Group in Criminology and the Sociology of Law in the department.
