Work and Employment Research Centre (WE)

The main aim of Work and Employment Research Centre (commonly abbreviated WE) is to promote research and research collaboration within the field of sustainable labour and employment.

WE started in 2012 with an administrative base at Gothenburg Centre for Environment and Sustainability (GMV). It is headed by a director and a steering group with members from the University of Gothenburg (the School of Business, Economics and Law, the Sahlgrenska Academy, the Faculty of Social Sciences) and Chalmers University of Technology. Two reference groups have been a formed: one local/regional and the other national/international. An important task for WE is to promote research collaboration across disciplinary, faculty, university and national boundaries. The centre organizes conferences and seminars and provides opportunities for researchers to get seed money for the purpose of developing larger projects (for example, through Horizon 2020).
