Om Stefania Davia

Background

I have a Master's of Public Health (MPH) from The George Washington University in Washington, DC and a BS in Public Health from Rutgers University in New Jersey.  Currently, I am working as a Technical Officer in the Division of Information, Evidence, Research, and Innovation at the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe in Copenhagen. In addition to a three-year stay in Lesotho with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), I have worked and conducted research as part of the UN, hospital-based clinical trials, mobile HIV testing units, universities, and NGOs in North and Central America, Southern Africa, and Europe.

Current Research

My current research concerns gender-based violence and women’s empowerment utilizing Demographic and Health (DHS) and other survey data. My PhD is part of the project A Global Analysis of Poverty and Living Conditions in Low and Middle Income Countries.
